Life's a Beach

We took advantage of a small break in the weather this weekend and took the kids to the beach in West Seattle. It was my mom's last weekend here, so we grabbed some fish and chips and walked the water looking for treasures (shells and rocks) and attempted to keep Huddy and Sophia out of the water. We were successful on one of those fronts...pictures tell the story.

There is no keeping these two clean or out of the water

Hudson enjoyed throwing rocks at the water and digging in the sand

The girls stopped long enough to pose on some driftwood

Such a ham for the camera

And in other news, Master Hudson turned 2 years old on April 13. Oh, and he *is* Buzz Lightyear.

Elbow to Elbow

Another busy weekend for the Maynes. Mimi, my mom, is in town and being tortured with our rigorous schedule, which really isn't for the faint at heart. I feel for her. The noise. The chaos. It's overwhelming for us, so I honestly cringe at times when people visit. We should hand out pills at our front door, non?

Amongst the chaos, Isabelle's soccer team, the Monsters, played this weekend and walked away with another victory making them 3-0 on the season. Honestly, this is a really good team and such a pleasure to watch. All the girls are good, so it's truly frustrating if one little mistake is made. And yes, I'm fully aware this is my problem and not theirs. I know I should sit back and relax (and enjoy?) but I have such high expectations because they truly do rock that much. *sigh* Perhaps my doctor will prescribe some valium for my Soccer Mom issues? If so, we can share with guests.

Here's Isabelle throwing a lovely elbow during the game. Apparently the other team was complaining about her rough play, which just caused me to grin ear-to-ear. That's my girl!

The Happiest Place on Earth!

Ah, Disneyland! This year we decided to break away from our norm of doing nothing over spring break, and make our annual trip to California to visit Disneyland. Previous trips have always resulted in nothing but fantastic family memories, and this time was no exception. For the first time, Isabelle was tall enough to ride all the big roller coasters she'd dreamt of getting on for years. Sophia, in all her glory, was completely capivated by the entire experience, and we really think had the most fun out of everyone. Hudson - thank God for him being so tall - was able to keep up with his sisters quite well, and rode a multitude of rides including The Materhorn, Dumbo, Gadget's Coaster, Pirates of the Caribbean, the tea cups, It's A Small World, and many more. As always, a fabulous trip and we're already looking forward to next year!

We were joined by our friends, the Cappalongas...here are a portion of all our kids (two are actually missing, believe it or not):
